The Streif in Kitzbühel is the epitome of spectacular downhill racing. Spectacular jumps of up to 80 meters in the mousetrap can often be seen on television during World Cup races. Professional skiers reach top speeds of up to 145 km/h. Although the ski slope is considered one of the most dangerous in the world with a gradient of up to 85 percent, it can also be used by normal skiers, at least in part. The starting point is the top station of the Hahnenkamm cable car. The key sections such as the Mausefalle, steep slope or Hausbergkante are marked as “ski routes”, often icy and therefore reserved for experts.
